have you heard the one about the Japanese Jews?
it’s been disproven, for what that’s worth,
but proven doesn’t mean much these days.
There’s a Jesus buried in Shingo.
Their He was a Garlic Farmer
and He lived until he was over 100,
taking a family along the way.
He had Children.
[Were these the wisdom Buddhas?]
[Don’t be so literal!]
It takes many days to die on a cross.
Sitting in pews I would wonder
about the pain, pinching my palms with nails,
and think “it’s not so bad, it’d only be a few days.”
Christ said children understood the world,
but not our version. And when I see my children
laughing while the world withers,
I Believe again, but I don’t recognize Him.
